Sphericality of spaces of conics on homogeneous spaces

We prove that the Hilbert scheme of conics on $X=G\mathrm{/}P$, a projective rational homogeneous space with Picard rank one, is $G$-spherical if and only if $P$ is associated to a long root of the Dynkin diagram.
