Geodesics With Unbounded Speed on Fluctuating Surfaces

We construct $C^{\mathrm{\infty }}$ time-periodic fluctuating surfaces in ${\mathbb{R}}^3$ such that the corresponding nonautonomous geodesic flow has orbits along which the energy, and thus the speed, goes to infinity.
