On the Möbius invariant Principal functions of Pincus

In this semi-expository short note, we prove that the only homogeneous $\mathit{\text{pure}}$ hyponormal operator $T$ with $\mathrm{rank}(T^{\ast }T-T{T}^{\ast })=1$, modulo unitary equivalence, is the unilateral shift.
