In this work, we study the number of finite tiles of size that translationally tile a finite . We consider two tiles and to be congruent if and only if one can be transformed into the other via some translation. We make several significant contributions to the study of this problem. For any and where (which we refer to as a finite contiguous ), we give an efficient method for enumerating all elements of , where if and only if , the Minkowsji sum of and equals , the size of equals , and . We then use this to prove a partial order on with respect to for any finite contiguous . We then study the extremal question as to the the growth rate of with respect to . For finite contiguous , we improve the trivial lower and upper bounds of and respectively to an upper bound of and an infinitely often super-polynomial lower bound such that, for all constants and some infinite , where . We conjecture that the number of tilings of any finite contiguous by tiles of size is an upper bound on the number of tilings of any finite by tiles of size . To begin working towards this, we prove that any of size that tiles some finite contiguous itself has at most as many tilings by tiles of size as there are tilings of by tiles of size .
