We consider the Laplacian with drift in Rn defined by Δν=∑i=1n(∂xi2∂2+2νi∂xi∂) where ν=(ν1,…,νn)∈Rn∖{0}. The operator Δν is selfadjoint with respect to the measure dμν(x)=e2⟨ν,x⟩dx. This measure is not doubling but it is locally doubling in Rn. We define, for every M>0 and k∈N, the operators Wν,M,∗k(f)=t>0supAν,M,tk(f),gν,Mk(f)=(∫0∞Aν,M,tk(f)2tdt)21,k≥1, the ρ-variation operator Vρ({Aν,M,tk}t>0)(f)=0<t1<⋯<tℓ,ℓ∈Nsup(j=1∑ℓ−1Aν,M,tjk(f)−Aν,M,tj+1k(f)ρ)ρ1,ρ>2, and, if {tj}j∈N is a decreasing sequence in (0,∞), the oscillation operator O({Aν,M,tk}t>0,{tj}j∈N)(f)=(j∈N∑tj+1≤ε<ε′≤tjsup∣Aν,M,εk(f)−Aν,M,ε′k(f)∣2)1/2. where Aν,M,tk=tk∂tk(I−tΔν)−M, t>0. We denote by Tν,Mk any of the above operators. We analyze the boundedness of Tν,Mk on Lp(Rn,μν) into itself, for every 1<p<∞, and from L1(Rn,μν) into L1,∞(Rn,μν). In addition, we obtain boundedness properties for the operator Gν,Mk,ℓ, 1≤ℓ<2M, defined by Gν,Mk,ℓ(f)=(∫0∞tℓ/2+k∂tkD(ℓ)(I−tΔν)−M(f)2tdt)21, for certain differentiation operator D(ℓ).
