Quarkonium polarization as a test of non-relativistic effective theory

I compare current approaches to quarkonium production with regard to what they tell us about quarkonium polarization. Predictions for $J\mathrm{/}\psi$ polarization in hadron-hadron and photon-hadron collisions are summarized.
