Quark Mass Matrix with a Structure of a Rank One Matrix Plus a Unit Matrix

A quark mass matrix model $M_{q} = M_{e}^{1 / 2} O_{q} M_{e}^{1 / 2}$ is proposed where $M_{e}^{1 / 2} = d i a g (\sqrt{m_{e}}, \sqrt{m_{μ}}, \sqrt{m_{τ}})$ and $O_{q}$ is a unit matrix plus a rank one matrix. Up- and down-quark mass matrices $M_{u}$ and $M_{d}$ are described in terms of charged lepton masses and additional three parameters (one in $M_{u}$ and two in $M_{d}$ ). The model can predict reasonable quark mass ratios (not only $m_{u} / m_{c}$ , $m_{c} / m_{t}$ , $m_{d} / m_{s}$ and $m_{s} / m_{b}$ , but also $m_{u} / m_{d}$ ) and Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix elements.
