High--Energy Multiparticle Distributions and a Generalized Lattice Gas Model

A simple lattice gas model in one dimension is constructed in which each site can be occupied by at most one particle of any one of $D$ species. Particles interact with a randomly drawn nearest neighbor interaction. This model is capable of reproducing the factorial moments observed in high–energy scattering. In the limit $D\to \mathrm{\infty }$, the factorial moments of the negative binomial distribution are obtained naturally.
