The unique constraints on neutrino oscillations which can be obtained by measuring the energy spectrum of supernova ’s are first discussed. The focus is on 4-neutrino mass and mixing models capable of explaining the LSND evidence of oscillations. The potential of the Fermilab neutrino detector MiniBooNE to observe supernova neutrinos is then addressed, and a general description of the detector is given. As of May, 2002, the MiniBooNE detector is fully operational.
