The Homogeneous Bright Quasar Survey and the Quasar Evolution in the Optical, X and Radio Bands

The present status of the ESO key-programme ``A Homogeneous Bright QSO Survey’’ is described together with the first results concerning the QSO counts and the optical luminosity function. The related analysis of the evolution of the radio and X-ray selected QSOs is presented.
