Locally nilpotent linear groups

We survey aspects of locally nilpotent linear groups. Then we obtain a new classification; namely, we classify the irreducible maximal locally nilpotent subgroups of $\mathrm{G}\mathrm{L}(q,\mathbb{F})$ for prime $q$ and any field $\mathbb F$.
