Elliptic functions and flotation

A paraboloid or a cone of density $\rho$ with vertical axis is released from rest into a liquid of density ${\rho }_0$. We determine the critical value of the ratio ${\rho }_0\mathrm{/}\rho$ for subsequent full submersion.
