We derive modular parametrizations for certain infinite series whose summands involve central binomial coefficients and higher-order harmonic numbers. When the rates of convergence are certain rational numbers, modularity allows us to reduce the corresponding series to special values of the Dirichlet L-functions. For example, we establish the following identities conjectured by Sun:k=0∑∞(k2k)3[H2k(2)−9225Hk(2)+1104735L−7(2)−86π2]4096k1=0,k=0∑∞(k2k)3[H2k(3)−35243Hk(3)]4096k42k+5=77π555ζ(3)−1132G, where Hk(r):=∑0<n≤knr1, L−7(2):=∑n=1∞(n−7)n21=121+221−321+421−521−621+821+⋯, G:=∑n=0∞(2n+1)2(−1)n, and ζ(3):=∑n=1∞n31.
