Correlation between mean transverse momentum and multiplicity of charged particles in $pp$ and $p\bar{p}$ collisions: from ISR to LHC

We present our analysis of the available experimental data on correlation between mean transverse momentum and charged particles multiplicity ($\langle p_T \rangle$-$N_{ch}$)atcentralrapidityin$pp$and$p\bar{p}$collisionsat$\sqrt{s}$ from 17 GeV to 7 TeV. A multi-pomeron exchange model based on Regge-Gribov approach provides quantitative description of $\langle p_T \rangle$-$N_{ch}$ correlation data and their energy dependence. Results are found to be in agreement with string fusion model hypothesis.
