Pointless Hyperelliptic Curves

In this paper we consider the question of whether there exists a hyperelliptic curve of genus $g$ which is defined over ${\text{FF}}_q$ but has no rational points over ${\text{FF}}_q$ for various pairs $(g,q)$.
