A symmetric quantum calculus

We introduce the $\alpha ,\beta$-symmetric difference derivative and the $\alpha ,\beta$-symmetric N"orlund sum. The associated symmetric quantum calculus is developed, which can be seen as a generalization of the forward and backward $h$-calculus.
