Motivated by the recent observation of the double-charmed baryon by the LHCb Collaboration, we systematically investigate the two-body nonleptonic decays of the into a single-charmed baryon and a light pseudoscalar meson. In our calculation, both factorizable and nonfactorizable decay amplitudes are evaluated within the framework of nonrelativistic quark model combined with the baryon wave functions dynamically determined by numerically solving the three-body Schrödinger equation with a nonrelativistic potential model. In particular, the nonfactorizable -exchange amplitudes are estimated under pole model by considering low-lying intermediate charmed-baryon poles, and our results show that these contributions are comparable to or even dominate the factorizable amplitudes in several decay channels. Moreover, assuming a lifetime of , we predict relatively large branching fractions for several CF decays, including , , , , and . These channels are promising candidates for future experimental searches at the LHCb.
