Using collision data collected by the BESIII detector at BEPCII corresponding to a total integrated luminosity of 44.6 , we present the first measurement of the Born cross sections for the process + c.c. at fifty-six center-of-mass energies between 3.51 and 4.95~GeV. By fitting the dressed cross sections of + c.c. with the assumption of a power-law function plus a charmonium(-like) resonance, i.e., , , , , , , , or , no significant charmonium(-like) state decaying into + c.c. is observed. The product of branching fractions and electronic partial widths including their upper limits at the 90% confidence level are provided for each decay. In addition, a partial wave analysis of the process + c.c. at = 3.773 GeV is performed to investigate , and resonances in the and invariant mass spectra. Significant contributions are found from the , , , , and . The masses, widths and production fractions for each component are determined.
