The $\lambda$-chain condition of a finite partially ordered set

It is shown that a certain finite partially ordered set arising from an algebra with straightening laws on a finite distributive lattice satisfies the $\lambda$-chain condition. In addition, its application to commutative algebra is briefly discussed.
