A density result for admissible displacements for an obstacle problem in linearised elasticity

In this short note we provide an improvement of the ``density property’', which was employed to establish the justification of Koiter’s model for linearly elastic elliptic membrane shells subjected to remaining confined in a prescribed half-space. This technique has the potential to be applicable to other types of obstacle problems.
