Given an integer and a graph , the -uniform suspension is obtained by adjoining a fixed set of new vertices to every edge of . In this paper, we study two extremal problems for suspensions of even cycles. Write for the -uniform clique of order . Let and denote the maximum numbers of edges and copies of , respectively, in an -free -uniform hypergraph on vertices. We prove that, for every and infinitely many , This extends a folklore result for and, as an immediate consequence, yields the asymptotics of for infinitely many , previously established by Mubayi (for all ). Furthermore, for every and , we determine the order of magnitude This generalizes both the classical graph case and a previous result of Mukherjee for . The principal difficulty in both problems lies in constructing the lower bounds. Our construction for incorporates a novel block-packing structure, which yields substantially more copies of than previously known constructions. For with , we establish a natural -uniform version of Wenger graphs, addressing the subtleties involved in lifting extremal graph constructions to suspensions. We also give applications of our results to Turán problems for simplicial complexes.
